Initially, some passers-by were sceptical. What’s this small stage with a piano doing there? No entertainment, no animation – what’s the point? But word soon spread: at Frankfurt Street Tunes, the city is the stage and passers-by the soloists.
The project is being continued this year with pianos being set up on small stages at popular places in downtown Frankfurt – an open invitation for passers-by to give spontaneous concerts and demonstrate their piano-playing skills.
Nothing is planned and there are no musical boundaries. Is the pianist a star, a keyboarder from a top band, an ambitious music student or an amateur? Frankfurt Street Tunes stands for music at unusual places, street sessions, flash mobs and lots more.
Participation is where it’s at! We are looking forward to your contribution!
