Music is dead – long live music! As a constantly available article of (digital) goods, today music has lost its value as an artistic and expressive form of youth culture. The bustling artists' collective Xerox Exotique aims to counteract this corruption by means of its "Deflation" project: visitors can bring with them the vinyls, CDs, cassettes or minidiscs which they once so loved and which today live a meagre existence as dusty decorations. After hearing a track together, a short epilogue is spoken and the audio carrier destroyed. An evening of farewell and of high-volume mourning – with a certain wink in the eye.
